FORT COLLINS — The cause of a fire in a 14,000-square-foot house outside Fort Collins was the gas log fireplace in the family room of the residence, the Poudre Valley Fire Authority said Monday.
During the fire, two firefighters were injured. One was hurt by falling debris and treated at the scene. The other was taken to a hospital and released after a couple of hours.
Firefighters were able to contain the damage to the wall around the fireplace chimney and attic area.
