DENVER—A man accused of damaging Colorado Democratic Party headquarters last summer has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief.

Twenty-four-year-old Maurice Schwenkler entered his plea Monday and agreed to pay $5,500 in restitution. He was sentenced to one year of probation.

Schwenkler was accused of shattering windows next to signs about health care reform at the Colorado Democratic Party headquarters early Aug. 25. He and another suspect were accused of causing an estimated $11,000 in damage. The other suspect was never identified.

Schwenkler was listed in state records as having been paid by a nonprofit group to work for at least one Democratic candidate.
