The Bank of the San Juans in Durango was robbed about 9:25 a.m. Tuesday by a man brandishing a handgun.
The man was described as being 5- foot-6 and between age 40 and 50, with a salt-and-pepper-colored goatee.
He was wearing a blue conductor- style hat with thin white stripes, sunglasses, a dark jacket with Marlboro written in red letters on the back, a Broncos T-shirt, dark-gray jeans and dark tennis shoes.
He carried a semiautomatic handgun and placed the money in two bags — one fluorescent green and one fluorescent orange.
