Guild takes a new direction
The Junior Symphony Guild adapts to the tenor of the times by hiring its first paid employee, putting its popular Designer Showhouse on hiatus for the time being and instituting a “grown-ups only” version of Inside the Orchestra as its signature fundraiser. Joanne Davidson goes into specifics in her Seen First blog: /davidson.
Breakfast with a purpose
Colorado first lady Jeannie Ritter and the 2009 Hero in Recovery, Joe Romero, were among the VIPs attending the Mental Health Center of Denver’s fifth Gifts of Hope Fundraising Breakfast. The 300 guests welcomed by board chair Pamela Hovik and Dr. Carl Clark, the agency’s chief executive, also included such board members as Barbara Ford, Nancy Gary, Judy Kilbourne, Paula Kuchta, Jesse Ogas, Nancy Severson, Rick Simms and Dr. Roberta Payne.
Give it a try
Three million people in 50 countries have heard Matthew Kelly encourage them to become “the best possible version” of themselves, and when he came to Denver at the start of the holiday season to speak at Evening of Hope, his message seemed to hit its mark. The 380 guests at this benefit for Seeds of Hope Charitable Trust seemed to depart the Donald R. Seawell Grand Ballroom with uplifted spirits and perhaps a new resolve.
