DENVER—The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is considering cutting programs to deal with a smaller budget, which is already down by $3.4 million.

The coalition says its Stout Street Clinic in downtown Denver lost almost $2.8 million in state funds retroactive to July 1. In September, it lost about $650,000 in grant funding covering various health services and screenings.

On Jan. 5, the coalition’s board is expected to consider cuts including reduced hours for medical and mental health care at the clinic. The board also might eliminate a mobile health clinic, a respite care program, and two residential programs for recovering addicts.

The Stout Street Clinic has a waiting list of more than 700 homeless people needing mental health services.
