DENVER—A Colorado Republican is leaning left these days—because he broke his right foot.
Rep. Mike Coffman of Aurora broke his foot on Christmas morning when he fell during a jog with his dog. The congressman tells The Denver Post that while he was limping home for help, a neighbor stopped to ask his about the health care debate in Washington.
Coffman chose a patriotic pattern for his cast—stars and stripes. The 54-year-old Republican says he’ll need crutches for four weeks. Congress returns to work Jan. 19.
