Denver’s first murder of 2010 took place just three hours after the fireworks ended downtown.

At 3:11 a.m., police were called to a fight at 1434 North Lipan St. They found a man who was not breathing.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Denver Health where he was pronounced dead.

Through interviews, police learned that the man had collapsed during a fight with Robert Haskins, 43, according to a release from DPD. Haskins was arrested for investigation of first-degree murder.

An autopsy will determine the man’s cause of death.
