A so-called “Net Zero Carbon home” in Boulder has sold for more than $2 million.

Next West Home at 429 Spruce St., developed by Bruce Oreck of Zero Carbon Initiative, sold for $2.2 million. Joel Ripmaster of Colorado Landmark marketed the property.

The home garnered local and national attention for its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Platinum certification, as well as the Net Zero Carbon status. Luxury features were incorporated with sustainable building techniques, including solar panels and geothermal heating and cooling. Built of 100-year-old recycled brick, the home is equipped with Energy Star appliances and a garage wired for an electric car. Margaret Jackson, The Denver Post
