DENVER—Companies working on “green energy” projects in Colorado have received a total of about $75 million in tax credits through the federal stimulus program.
Vestas Wind Systems was awarded about $51 million in tax credits announced Friday. The Danish wind-turbine maker will get tax credits for two blade manufacturing plants in Brighton and a Pueblo plant that makes towers for the turbines.
Abound Solar Inc. has received $12.6 million in tax credits to expand its solar panel production in Longmont. Hexcel Corp. will use its roughly $8 million award for a wind-blade making plant in Windsor.
Other projects and the credits are: Advanced Energy Industries Inc., $1.2 million, Fort Collins, solar inverters; Coolerado Corp., Denver, $750,000, air conditioning units; ReflecTech Inc., $750,000, Arvada, solar technology.
