As part of capacity reductions, United Airlines will lay off 50 customer service employees based in Denver.
United spokesman Megan McCarthy said Friday that employees were notified in early December about the layoffs, which are effective Sunday.
Systemwide, about 200 of United’s 48,000 employees are being laid off. “This is difficult but necessary as we continue to right-size our business in this economy,” McCarthy said.
