Agencies across rural Colorado have received federal grants totaling $2.2 million for plans to save energy and create jobs.

The Governor’s Energy Office announced Monday that the grants will pay for local coordinators to work with communities and businesses. The positions will be administered by local governments, colleges, utilities and nonprofit groups.

The grants range from $50,000 to $265,000.
