DENVER—The Colorado House has passed and sent to the governor a bill meant to give the state an edge in competing for millions of dollars in federal education funds.
Legislative leaders rushed the bill through so Gov. Bill Ritter can sign it before Colorado submits its application for the federal “Race to the Top” program next week.
The bill would require the state to track where educators got their training and report on the success of teachers and principals in boosting student achievement.
