FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Larimer County deputies say a teen who crashed a pickup after a chase of up to 100 mph had had his license revoked because of alcohol violations and was on probation.
Authorities say the 17-year-old suffered non-life-threatening injuries when the pickup crashed and rolled early Wednesday near LaPorte. Deputies say they found a small amount of marijuana in the pickup.
The sheriff’s department says the chase began after a deputy stopped to check on the parked pickup. Officials say the deputy didn’t pursue until the pickup reached high speed.
They say the crash occurred about a minute after the deputy switched on his lights and sirens.
