Natural-gas production in the Rocky Mountain region’s top gas-producing state declined last year for the first time since 1997.
Figures from the Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission show Wyoming’s natural-gas production in 2009 was about 2.1 trillion cubic feet. That was down from 2008’s record 2.3 trillion cubic feet.
Despite the decrease, 2009 was still the second-best year on record for Wyoming’s gas industry.
