Drayson Bowman, a product of Littleton midget hockey, has graduated to the NHL.

Bowman, a left winger for the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League, was called up by the Carolina Hurricanes and joined the team Friday in Raleigh, N.C. He likely will make his NHL debut tonight vs. Atlanta.

Bowman, 20, played in the Littleton Hockey Association before moving to Vancouver in 2003 to play bantam hockey. He went on to skate for the major-junior Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League before being picked by Carolina in the third round of the 2007 NHL draft.

This season, his first as a pro, the 6-foot-1, 190-pounder had eight goals and seven assists in 26 games with Albany.
