A 15-year-old high school student was injured this morning when she was hit by a car as she walked to a school bus stop.
The accident happened at about 7 a.m. in front of Clear Sky Elementary School, 1470 Clear Sky Way, according to a Castle Rock media release.
The Castle View High School student’s injuries are not life-threatening, the city said.
The student was hit near the bus loop in front of the elementary school, which serves high school and middle school students as well as elementary students.
The girl was crossing Foothills Drive when she was hit by an eastbound car. A school bus driver called 911 and the girl, who was conscious when help arrived, was taken to a local hospital, the release said.
A 62-year-old man was driving the car that hit the girl. He was not identified.
The accident is being investigated by the Castle Rock Police Department’s Traffic Unit.
