RAPID CITY, S.D.—A former Denver police officer accused of shooting at Custer County deputies and a South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper has been found guilty.
Kachina McAlexander of Aurora, Colo., was convicted Thursday of three counts of aggravated assault and a weapons charge.
McAlexander was arrested March 24 at a Super 8 Motel in Custer after law enforcement officers were called to her room. That’s when McAlexander allegedly shot at the deputies and trooper. No one was hit.
Prosecutors say that because the victims were police officers, McAlexander faces up to 25 years in prison on each count.
