PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — Rescuers were trying late Saturday to free three people still alive under the rubble of a collapsed supermarket in the Haitian capital.
American rescue workers shouted back and forth with the survivors trapped in the wreckage of an upscale, multistory supermarket in a relatively prosperous suburb. Rescue workers were able to pass some water to the three but had not yet figured out how to get to them beneath huge slabs of concrete.
