A man was critically wounded Monday night when gunfire erupted in the vicinity of Buckley Road and East Quincy Avenue in Aurora, according to Aurora police.

Bob Friel, spokesman for the Aurora Police Department, said that a preliminary investigation indicated that a dispute broke out involving a number of individuals near several businesses at the northeast corner of Buckley Road and Quincy Avenue.

Multiple shots were fired and the victim was struck.

Although wounded, he was able to run to a nearby business for help, said Friel.

The man was immediately transported to a nearby hospital.

Detectives from the major crimes unit and personnel with the crime scene investigation unit responded to the scene. They also went to the hospital, said Friel.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Detective Tom Wilson at 303-739-6711.
