It was late October when we broke the news that Garth Brooks would be here in spring to help Denver Health celebrate its 150th anniversary, and today we can share a few more pertinent details.

He’ll headline the April 24 Night Shine Gala, a black-tie dinner, auction and concert held at the National Western Events Center. Tickets aren’t cheap — they range from $5,000 to $200,000 per table of 10 — and are available through Candice Jones, 303-602-2978. Jones says a list of what each price level includes is available at denver .

Gala chairpersons Sharon Magness Blake and Ernie Blake, Jean and Dr. Ben Galloway and Lisa and Bruce Alexander hope to raise $2.5 million.

Night Shine is the centerpiece of a year-long celebration that was described to patrons last Thursday at a reception held at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Other components are an exhibit that remains at Denver International Airport until April 19; sales of “The Life of Time,” a commemorative painting by local artist Darrell Anderson; a book by Eileen Welsome on the history of Denver Health that goes on sale this spring; and “Getting Sick and Well in Colorado: The Origins and Emergence of our Country’s Finest Public Healthcare System,” a Feb. 16 lecture by Dr. John Sbarbaro.
