CU TO HOST CLASH OF TWO POLITICAL TITANS

Former Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean will match up against top GOP political strategist Karl Rove for a debate Feb. 15 on the University of Colorado at Boulder campus. The event is part of a series of debates the two have had on college campuses nationwide.

Out to pocket some green via bluejeans.

To raise money for Haiti relief funds, the Senate is going to allow bluejeans to be worn on Friday, but for a price:

$50 for lawmakers

$10 for staffers

$500 for reporters

Gridiron grumblings

“I hate the Chargers. If they had won, I would have introduced legislation making Chargers jerseys illegal.”

Sen. Michael Johnston, D-Denver, joking with a Senate sergeant about San Diego’s loss to the New York Jets

Raising a stink.

You’ve heard of “Cash for Clunkers.” How about “Cash for Crappers”?

Rep. Kevin Priola put magnets on the back of the smallest size Pampers available, and affixed stickers with the Obama campaign logo on the front. The slogan read “Cash for Crappers. Change you can believe in.”

Priola, a Henderson Republican, said he sold plenty for $5 each at a fundraiser.
