SAN FRANCISCO — The Nuggets have struggled on the road (8-11) and against teams with losing records (Detroit, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Sacramento twice), so tonight will be a nice little litmus test for the powder blue, since they’ll face both obstacles.
The Nuggets (26-14) play at Golden State (12-27), a wacky team that plays iffy defense and pushes the ball as if it were a team of Ty Lawsons.
“Guys have done a good job at focusing in — it’s time to change our ways,” Nuggets coach George Karl said at the morning shootaround at The Four Seasons Hotel. “There is a seriousness to the game and a respect for Golden State. They have three great scorers — we’ve got to be ready to defend.”
The Nuggets are 2-0 against the Warriors this season, but both wins were at Pepsi Center.
