DENVER—A man convicted of negligently causing the death of his girlfriend’s toddler daughter has received a maximum sentence of 16 years in prison.
Steve Burnley was watching the 22-month-old girl, Taylor Bach, when she died in October of 2007. Just an hour before Burnley called an ambulance, had sent an 8-second video to the mother’s showing Taylor playing with a musical toy.
Burnley gave police conflicting stories about what happened to the girl. He was baby-sitting the toddler while the mother was at work.
