A 12-year-old North Arvada Middle School student was hit by a car about a mile from the school at about 8 a.m. today, police said.
The boy’s name was not released. He was rushed to The Children’s Hospital in Aurora, but his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, said Susan Medina, spokeswoman for the Arvada Police Department.
The boy was struck in the eastbound lanes of 80th Drive about 50 feet from the intersection of Chase Drive by a Ford Escape sports-utility vehicle driven by a 50-year-old woman.
The driver’s name has not been released and no charges have been filed, pending the outcome of an investigation, Medina said.
