Colorado’s steep skiing season is officially underway with the long-awaited opening of the “Extreme Limits” terrain at Crested Butte Mountain Resort this past weekend.

Considered by many the most challenging inbounds expert terrain in the state, the 19-year site of the World Extreme Freeskiing Championships saw a delayed opening this season in order for ski patrol to ensure the terrain and snowpack were safe for skiers.

Former U.S. Extreme Freeskiing champion and Crested Butte Mountain Resort ambassador Wendy Fisher will take folks who love to ski into the area during a Valentine’s Ski Clinic, Feb. 13-15. For more information, visit or call 970-349-2251.
