A woman was struck and killed as she crossed West Colfax Avenue in mid-block about 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Lakewood police said this morning.
According to a news release, the woman was struck by a Toyota pickup that was traveling in the eastbound left lane.
The initial impact threw the woman into another vehicle that was stopped and waiting to turn left from eastbound West Colfax Avenue to northbound Kendall Street.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The identification of the pedestrian was not released.
The release said alcohol and speed are not suspected of either driver. Toxicology results are unknown at this time.
No charges are pending at this time.
