A laboratory that improves understanding of how space vehicles will eventually operate in orbit is up and running, with full operations expected later this year, Lockheed Martin Corp. announced Monday.
Located at Lockheed’s Waterton Canyon facility in south Jefferson County, the Space Vehicle Integration Laboratory offers state-of-the-art computer hardware and software technologies to check space vehicles at different stages of development.
Lockheed officials said the lab will “significantly reduce up-front systems engineering and implementation costs.”
