Colorado ski areas saw a slight bump in early-season business compared with last year.

Skier visits from October through December were up 1 percent at the 22 resorts represented by Colorado Ski Country USA.

“We are seeing some positive signs this year but are not breaking out the bubbly just yet,” said Melanie Mills, president and chief executive of the industry advocacy group. “We still have a long way to go with a lot of season left. For now, we’re glad to see a little momentum in the way of increased visitation and are hopeful it will continue.”
