Boulder police are seeking the public’s help in tracking down a burglar who was hauling a 46-inch flat screen television out of a home when the owner showed up.

The interrupted burglary happened at about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of Arapahoe Avenue, police said in a media release.

“After a brief conversation, the suspect put the television down, calmly told the victim that he was not going to stay to talk with police and walked away,” police said. “The victim followed the suspect until the suspect climbed a fence and disappeared.”

Police describe the burglar as a white man, in his early- to mid-40s, and about 130 pounds. At the time of the incident, the burglar was wearing a blue stocking cap, a blue or plaid sweater, stone-washed denim jeans and running shoes. He did not have any facial hair.

The victim told police that computer and electronic equipment was missing.
