BOULDER, Colo.—A preschool teacher in Nederland has been arrested on suspicion of sex assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.
Thirty-eight-year-old Kristin Carol Barnett surrendered to police Thursday but was freed after posting a $1,000 bond. Barnett started teaching at Over the Rainbow preschool in Nederland last summer.
Sheriff’s Cmdr. Rick Brough says a student’s mother told sheriff’s officials on Dec. 10 that her child had been sexually assaulted.
Jail records didn’t indicate whether Barnett has a lawyer, and her phone number isn’t listed.
