Sun Microsystems, which completed its merger with Oracle this week, laid off 32 employees in Colorado this month. and plans to lay off another 197 workers in March and April, according to a filing with the state Department of Labor.
Sun previously indicated in a filing in November that it would lay off at least 128 workers this year. A Sun spokeswoman said in October that the company employs about 2,000 at its main campus in Broomfield, where the bulk of the layoffs will occur.
Due to incorrect information provided by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, this brief says Sun Microsystems recently filed a document about layoffs in 2010. The company has not filed a so-called WARN Act Notice this year.
