Eric Larsen, will share slide shows, video footage and stories from his Save the Poles expedition and excursions to the world’s last great frozen places 6:30-9:30 p.m. Thursday at the American Mountaineering Center in Golden. In January, Larsen completed a 48-day, 750-mile journey to ski to the South Pole, wrapping up the first leg of his expedition to create awareness of global warming while attempting to become the first person to reach the South Pole, North Pole and Mount Everest in one year. Larsen, who lives in Boulder, will leave for the North Pole in March. Donations for Save the Poles will be accepted at the door.

Denver Museum of Nature & Science needs you
The museum is seeking an additional 100 volunteers during “Body Worlds & The Story of the Heart,” March 12-July 18, to greet visitors, distribute audio guides, take visitor tickets and offer educational opportunities. The museum will be open extended hours for this exhibition of more than 200 human specimens, including whole-body plastinates, organs and translucent body slices.
