PARKER, Colo.—Parker police say they’re investigating a Denver police officer for allegedly playing a prank by asking that they go to a colleague’s house to check on the co-worker’s well-being.
Parker police Sgt. Doreen Jokerst says the Denver officer is being investigated for false reporting. The officer was not named and he has not been charged.
A Denver police spokesman referred calls to Parker police.
Jokerst said Monday the Denver officer called Parker police last week and told them his co-worker had not been to work for three days so he wanted officers to do a welfare check. Jokerst says investigators believe the Denver officer was playing a practical joke on his colleague.
