BOULDER, Colo.—Colorado basketball coach Jeff Bzdelik says star freshman Alec Burks will miss the Buffaloes’ game against top-ranked Kansas on Wednesday night.
Burks sprained his left knee Saturday in the opening minutes of a game at Iowa State. An MRI on Sunday revealed only a sprain and Burks had hoped to play against the Jayhawks (20-1).
Burks is the second-leading scorer for Colorado (11-10), averaging 16.3 points, and is the team’s top rebounder (4.7). His scoring average ranks fourth nationally among all freshmen.
