Colorado men’s basketball coach Jeff Bzdelik announced today that freshman guard Alec Burks will not play tonight against No. 1 ranked Kansas at a sold-out Coors Events Center.

Burks suffered a left knee sprain last Saturday in the opening minutes of CU’s 64-63 loss at Iowa State. Bzdelik said Burks is still day-to-day and as a precaution he will not play Burks against the Jayhawks.

Burks is CU’s second leading scorer averaging 16.3 points per game and is the team’s top rebounder with 4.7 rebounds. His scoring average ranks fourth nationally among all freshmen.

Also, all tickets for tonight’s game are sold out for both the general public and students.

The game will tipoff at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid delays because classes are still in session on campus at that time.

Once lots along Regent Avenue fill up, fans will have to park in auxiliary lots around campus and will not permitted to access lots along Regent Avenue without a specific permit. Student sports pass holders will need to bring their Buff OneCard and enter through the student gates at the southeast entrance.

There also will be a special lot available on East Campus at Pod G, just off Colorado Avenue and Discovery. Parking there is free, and shuttles will run to Regent Avenue near the Coors Events Center starting at 5:30 p.m. Fans parking there will need to remove their vehicles no later than one hour following the conclusion of the game.
