Call it what you want this weekend: Presidents Day, Valentine’s Day or Chinese New Year. Fact is, it’s time to let the good times roll. Mardi Gras hits full swing on this crowded calendar weekend, and Colorado’s high country is planning to make the most of it. Whether it’s the family fun of Mardi Gras Snow Fest at SolVista Basin (sledding, music and food), the street festival flavor of Carni- Vail (parties, parades and the “World’s Highest Low Country Crawfish Boil” at Eagle’s Nest on Sunday) or the downright debauchery you might expect of Saturday night’s Bacchus Ball at Beaver Run in Breckenridge (masks, beads, hurricanes, music, Mardi Gras queen crowning and more), the celebratory spirit is sure to hit a high point over the holiday weekend in Colorado’s ski country. For those who would rather take the plunge, Loveland Ski Area’s 19th annual Marry Me and Ski for Free mass wedding ceremony returns with two-for-one lift tickets for avowed lovers on Valentine’s Day, which is Sunday. Participants provide the fireworks.
