DENVER—Colorado Rep. Jared Polis is stepping up his fundraising efforts for fellow Democrats in his second year in Congress.
Campaign-finance filings show the Jared Polis Victory Fund donated $402,250 last year to efforts to elect Democrats to Congress. That included $131,000 donated to 30 candidates, almost all of them first-term members of Congress in swing districts.
Now Polis says he will form another joint fundraising committee to help Democrats willing to challenge incumbent Republicans.
Polis says Colorado’s congressional delegation is “very junior” in terms of experience in Washington. He says what they lack in years they needs to make up in activity, fundraising and networking.
