The University of Denver women’s golf team finished tied for sixth place and Colorado finished 14th on Wednesday in the 15-team Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at the 5,912-yard, par-71 Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes, Calif.
The Buffs posted their best score of the tournament in the final round with a 309, led by Christine Kim’s round of 71. They finished with a 933 total.
The Pioneers shot a final-round 306 to finish the tournament with a 48-over-par 900 total, two shots behind defending national champion Arizona State. Southern California (876) was the team champion.
DU teammates Stephanie Sherlock and Ellie Givens finished tied for 12th. Kim had the best finish for CU, finishing tied for 21st.
Eagles wrap up successful trip.
The Colorado Eagles defeated Wichita 6-3 in a Central Hockey League game in Wichita, completing their seven-game road trip with 10 of a possible 14 points.
Kevin Ulanski, Jay Birnie and Aaron Schneekloth scored goals in the first four minutes of the game, before the Thunder even registered a shot.
The win put Colorado in a tie with Rapid City for first place in the Northern Conference.
