It’s a dog’s lifeand this week in New York City, it’s posh. A Manhattan hotel is welcoming champion canines from three new breeds appearing at the Westminster Kennel Club show, which starts Monday at Madison Square Garden. For the first time, competitors include the Irish red and white setter, the Pyrenean shepherd and the Norwegian buhund. On Friday, Hotel Pennsylvania was filled with the pooches. Jerry Grymek, who calls himself the hotel’s “doggie concierge,” says the animals get massages and sleep in rooms with special “dogpedic” beds. The hotel offers a his-and-hers “comfort station,” complete with faux fire hydrants for the males and a treadmill dubbed “Jog a Dog.”
