PHOENIX — A son of former Vice President Dan Quayle announced Friday that he is running for Congress in Arizona.

Ben Quayle, 33, hopes to replace retiring Republican Rep. John Shadegg in a GOP-leaning district that covers parts of Phoenix and Scottsdale and some rural areas to the north.

Quayle, a lawyer and managing director of a Scottsdale investment firm, enters a crowded field of Republicans interested in the seat.
