FORT CARSON, Colo.—Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in a head on collision that killed two Fort Carson soldiers and left another soldier with critical injuries.
Colorado State Patrol Sgt. John Hahn said the accident happened early Saturday morning on Colorado 115 near the Army post.
An Audi driven by the soldier crossed the center line and slammed into a utility pick up truck. Hahn said both soldiers in the front seat were wearing seat belts while a rear passenger was unfastened.
Hahn said the driver of the pickup truck suffered serious injuries that aren’t believed to be life threatening. The driver of another car that hit both vehicles suffered minor injuries.
Fort Carson officials did not immediately return phone calls.
