A man was struck and killed by a GMC Yukon late Friday as he was bending over in an intersection to pick something up off the street, authorities say.
The names of the victim and the driver of the GMC have not been released.
The victim was crossing Wads- worth Boulevard at West 17th Avenue at 10:05 p.m. when he kneeled down to pick something up he had dropped in the right lane and was struck, according to a news release.
The pedestrian was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
