COLORADO SPRINGS — An early- morning crash killed a woman in south Colorado Springs on Sunday and ended with two drivers arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

The crash happened about 2:15 a.m. at South Circle Drive and Fountain Boulevard when a Ford pickup and a Mercury Cougar crashed head-on.

According to police, the Ford was heading south on South Circle and was attempting to make a left onto Fountain when it hit the Cougar, which was driving with no lights on. The woman in the passenger seat of the Cougar died at the scene.

The crash sent five others in the car to Memorial Hospital Central.

Police later arrested both drivers for driving under the influence.
