After a flurry of crashes near the finish line of the women’s downhill course Wednesday, Olympic organizers decided to tweak the run a second time.
The final jump, known as Hot Air, is going to be shaved down and the start gate will be lowered for today’s super-combined. Hot Air was altered after practice Monday because of concerns it could be dangerous.
Sweden’s Anja Paerson seemed headed for a silver medal in the downhill but flew 60 meters before landing badly and sliding headfirst over the finish line.
“We will try to ease things down a little bit,” women’s race director Atle Skaardal said.
