OMAHA, Neb.—Olympian Charles “Deacon” Jones, Creighton basketball coach Dana Altman and Rosenblatt Stadium are among this year’s nominees for the Omaha Sports Hall of Fame.
The public can vote for the nominees through 5 p.m. Monday, and the top vote-getters will be inducted at an April 29 ceremony. Votes can be cast online at .
Also included among the nominees are former Nebraska football player and current assistant coach Barney Cotton and hockey great Motto McLean, along with Jack Diesing Sr., creator of the College World Series, and his son, Jack Diesing Jr., who have run the series since its creation.
Past inductees include retired major-league relief pitcher Gregg Olson and football great Tom Novak.
