Young climbers looking for a winter outlet are invited to test their skills at the Parker Fieldhouse (18700 E. Plaza Drive). In addition to regularly scheduled open-climbing hours for all, the facility will host a youth climbing tournament on the Pinnacle indoor climbing wall for kids ages 6 to 18 at noon Saturday.
Climbers can compete for trophies and prizes after paying a tournament entry fee of $10 that doubles as admission to the facility (and is good for a free T-shirt). Half-price harness and shoe rentals are being offered at $2.
Open-climb hours are also offered daily, including belay training at no additional cost. Climbers may use their own equipment or rent from the facility.
