CHEYENNE, Wyo.—Gov. Dave Freudenthal is scheduled to undergo eye surgery on Monday.

Freudenthal’s office says the surgery is a routine outpatient procedure on his tear duct.

The surgery is scheduled for Monday morning at the Park Avenue Surgery Center in Denver.

Freudenthal’s office says the governor’s optometrist in Cheyenne referred him to the Colorado facility for the operation.

Secretary of State Max Maxfield will serve as acting governor while Freudenthal is in surgery. Freudenthal is expected to resume his duties Monday afternoon.
