AIR FORCE ACADEMY — Air Force clinched home ice in the Atlantic Hockey Association quarterfinals with a 6-3 win over Sacred Heart on Friday night at the Cadet Ice Arena.
Air Force scored five goals in the second period, including three on the power play.
The Falcons improved to 13-14-6 overall and 13-8-6 in the AHA. Sacred Heart fell to 18-11-4 overall and 16-8-3 in the league. SHU is now 15-2-2 in its last 19 games.
With the win, Air Force clinched home ice in the AHA quarterfinals for the fourth straight year. The quarterfinals are a best-of-three series March 12-13.
If necessary, the deciding third game would be Sunday, March 14, at 7:05 p.m.
The Falcons got goals from Scott Kozlak, Matt Fairchild, Tim Kirby, Paul Weisgarber and two by John Kruse.
