At the Movies

A cop-notch comedy

“Cop Out” is the story of an angry veteran cop (Bruce Willis) whose rare baseball card is stolen. He and his partner (played by Tracy Morgan) go on a “bad-cop” rampage to catch the thief. Fans of cop shows and gangster movies will appreciate the humor. R. 1 hour, 50 minutes.

The way they roll

“The Yellow Handkerchief” is about a road trip through the gritty side of Louisiana and how it brings together three strangers. Starring Maria Bello, William Hurt, Kristen Stewart and Eddie Redmayne. PG-13. 1 hour, 42 minutes.

Homebodies

Do the right thing?

Based on a true story, “The Informant!” out on DVD, has Matt Damon playing an insider playing an outsider playing an insider. Huh? That’s right. He isn’t quite sure what he’s doing, either. Damon gives a seriously funny, slightly disturbing performance. This timely movie delves into corporate responsibility. R. 1 hour, 48 minutes.

Join the circus

“Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant,” starring John C. Reilly is a creepy tale about a teenager’s decision to join what he believes is a circus show. He gets a bit more than he bargained for. Jane Krakowski, Salma Hayek and Willem Dafoe also star. PG-13. I hour, 49 minutes.
