An Alaskan college administrator and retired Navy officer was crowned 2010 Beerdrinker of the Year on Saturday at the Wynkoop Brewing Co.
Homebrewer Bill Howell withstood two hours of beer- related questioning to win the 14th annual title.
Howell wins free beer for life at Wynkoop; a $250 bar tab at his favorite brewpub, Elias Brewing Company in Soldotna, Alaska; Beerdrinker of the Year attire, and beer-lover bragging rights. The other finalists were Phil Farrell, a Georgia commercial pilot; and Logan Perkins, a Denver beer enthusiast.
